Why I started Truck University.
I started Truck University to help people getting into trucking and those working to grow their businesses. Between my own background and the people in my company, we bring more than 40 years of combined trucking-industry experience.
For more than 30 years, we have bought, sold, driven, dispatched and maintained our own fleet. That experience is why I wanted to build a resource for the next generation of operators.
Running trucks means making decisions about equipment, fuel, maintenance, rates and how to keep the business moving. My aim is to make those subjects easier to understand, with useful explanations and tools you can try with your own numbers.

Research, writing and AI tools
The current guides were researched and drafted with AI assistance. AI tools also support translation and consistency checks. The founder sets the site’s purpose and direction; the experience described above does not mean every guide has been personally written, tested or fact-checked by the founder.
Source checkpoints record document or calculation checks. Equipment profiles and translations have not received an independent mechanic’s or native speaker’s review. For service or fitment decisions, use the actual serial number and the manufacturer’s documentation.
Sources you can follow
Equipment guides link to manufacturer references and distinguish model generations where the source allows. Specifications can vary by year, market and configuration. Comparisons are editorial explanations; the site does not present them as road tests or manufacturer endorsements.
Corrections update the affected text and its source checkpoint while preserving the original publication date. If you spot an error or have a better primary source, please get in touch.
Numbers you can check
Calculators show their inputs, formulas and limitations. Starting values and worked examples are hypothetical. Automated tests check the arithmetic and invalid inputs. Your own costs and operating assumptions determine the result.
Saved minutes do not always reduce a bill. The fuel-stop calculator keeps modeled time value separate from actual cash savings, with cash realization starting at zero.

Truck University is an independent educational resource. It does not issue qualifications or claim accreditation or manufacturer endorsement.
