Crude oil & diesel prices.
Follow crude, wholesale diesel and regional pump-price averages. Each number keeps its source, observation date and tax basis.
Government data is checked daily at 6 a.m. Eastern. Toronto rack checks are scheduled for 3:15 a.m. and 6:15 a.m. Eastern. Every price keeps its source observation date.
Indicative WTI crude.
TradingView’s WTI crude-oil CFD display, in USD per barrel. This is a market indicator, separate from the EIA spot-price observations below.
The display reloads every 15 minutes while this page is visible. Quote timing and any delays depend on the provider and market hours; a reload does not mean a new price.

Is waiting likely to help?
A movement in WTI is a useful market clue. It is not enough on its own to tell a driver to fuel today or tomorrow.
Crude trades in US dollars, while this rack series is in Canadian dollars. Refining margins, diesel supply, transport costs and exchange rates can change the relationship. A rack posting also does not determine the price at a particular station.
The public rack history on this page starts on 2026-10-21. It does not yet support a tested next-day forecast.
What would earn a directional signal?
A model fixed before testing, timestamped public inputs available at the decision time, and repeated future tests against a simple no-change forecast. Its likely benefit must exceed forecast error and any extra costs of changing a fuel stop.
What amber means today
There is insufficient validated evidence to recommend buying now or waiting. Use your actual supplier quote and operating needs. Keep enough fuel for the route and safe reserves.
What does it mean for your fill?
Try an assumed price change. This example is a calculation, not a prediction of the next posting.
Market benchmarks keep their labelled source units. The example below follows your currency and volume preferences.
Positive means higher expense; negative means lower expense. Compare both prices on the same tax basis. The calculation excludes detours, fees, time and availability.

How to read the watch.
Three different price levels
WTI is a crude-oil benchmark. Rack is the posted wholesale price at a named terminal. Retail survey figures include taxes and reflect a different point in the supply chain. Subtracting these figures does not reveal a retailer’s profit.
When sources update
Petro-Canada says its rack prices take effect at midnight local terminal time and are posted online around 3 a.m. Eastern. Prices are set on business days. We check the public Toronto ULS Diesel posting at 3:15 a.m. and 6:15 a.m. Eastern. A failed check leaves the last verified price and its original effective date in place.
Ontario publishes its regional survey weekly, normally by the end of Monday, or the next working day after a holiday. Checking it daily does not create a new daily observation.
Dates matter
The observation date tells you when the price applies. The check date tells you when we looked for an update. A new check does not turn an older observation into today’s price. Weekends, holidays and source publication schedules can leave the latest value unchanged.
Check the original source
Follow the source links to public government datasets and the Petro-Canada posting. These benchmarks help explain market conditions; your supplier’s actual quote determines what you pay.
If a source is unavailable
The last verified observation keeps its original date. Missing values are never converted to zero. Old observations receive a visible warning, and the timing indicator remains neutral.
