This policy covers the Truck University website at truckuni.ca, operated as an independent educational publishing project. For privacy questions or requests, contact the site operator at shyonzmm@gmail.com.
Calculator figures stay in your browser
Fuel prices, distances, operating costs, rates and calculated results are processed in the current page. We do not send those figures to Google Analytics, save them in an account or include them in page addresses. An export is saved to your device when you request it. Reloading the calculator restores its example.
Optional Google Analytics
If you allow analytics, Google receives website usage information so we can understand visits and improve the tools and guides. This includes the page visited, limited campaign labels, referring website, browser/device information and interactions such as calculator use, export or print requests, reading most of an article and sponsorship link clicks. Analytics uses identifiers stored in cookies to distinguish visits. Google also receives network information needed to process requests.
We do not send calculator figures, free-text searches, email message contents or full incoming query strings. Advertising personalization, Google Signals and automatic form/search capture are disabled in our setup. We load the Google Analytics tag only after permission; rejecting analytics leaves it unloaded. Google Analytics never runs on this privacy page, even if you have allowed it elsewhere on the site.

Cookies, storage and changing your mind
We store your analytics choice in this browser’s local storage for up to 180 days. This preference contains a yes/no choice, a version and a date, not a unique visitor ID. If your browser blocks storage, the choice may apply only to the current page.
After permission, Google Analytics may set _ga cookies. Our tag requests a 90-day cookie lifetime without extending it on each visit. Browsers may shorten that period. Our Google Analytics user and event data retention is set to two months, without resetting on new activity. These controls do not affect most standard reports based on aggregated data. Cookies and reporting have different retention rules.
Open at any time to withdraw permission. We stop our analytics events, remove accessible analytics cookies and reload the page to unload the tag. Withdrawal does not erase information already processed by Google. Clearing browser storage removes the saved choice and brings back the consent prompt.
Essential hosting and security
The hosting and delivery providers process requests needed to serve the website and protect it from abuse. These requests can include IP addresses, browser details and the requested address. Cloudflare may set security cookies, such as __cf_bm. These essential services operate separately from optional analytics; our preference controls do not disable them.
Provider information: OpenAI privacy policy and Cloudflare privacy policy. Providers may process information outside your province or Canada, including in the United States.
Email enquiries
If you email us, your email provider and Gmail process the message. We receive the contact details and information you choose to send and use them to answer the enquiry or manage an agreed business relationship. We retain correspondence as needed for that purpose and any applicable recordkeeping obligations. Please do not send confidential fleet records or calculator exports unless they are needed for your enquiry.
Sponsorship, advertising and links
Advertising trackers and automated ad serving are currently off. Approved sponsorships, if displayed, are clearly labelled and may link to another website. Following a link brings you under that website’s privacy practices. If analytics is allowed, we may measure that a labelled sponsorship link was clicked using its campaign identifier, without sending calculator figures.
We will update these disclosures and the applicable consent controls before enabling advertising technology that collects additional information. A sponsorship does not change calculator formulas or results. We do not sell calculator inputs or results.
Requests and updates
You can ask about information handled by the site operator, request access or correction, or request deletion of correspondence, subject to applicable requirements and exceptions. Email shyonzmm@gmail.com with enough detail to identify your enquiry. We may need to verify your identity. We cannot identify your local calculator figures because they are not sent to us.
We update this page when our practices change and change the effective date when appropriate. A material change to optional tracking will require a new choice.
