What is the Allison 1000 and 2000 Series?
Allison groups its 1000 and 2000 Series for light- and medium-duty commercial vehicles. Its product directory lists family capability up to 365 hp and 700 lb-ft. Those upper figures do not mean every model or installed transmission has the same rating.
What matters in a comparison
For a 1000- or 2000-series work truck, record the specific model and control generation. Compare it with the engine and completed vehicle’s approved workload. Ask about the correct fluid specification, service records and any auxiliary requirements. A pickup-oriented description or a general family maximum is not a substitute for the commercial vehicle’s own documentation.
Fluids & filters
Commercial on-highway Allison 1000/2000 product families; identify the actual transmission, not only the truck badge.

- Sump depth and installed filter identity
- Prognostics enabled/disabled status
- Duty cycle and applicable coverage requirements

Transmission lubricant
Allison-approved TES 668 automatic transmission fluid; TES 295 remains approved.
Commercial on-highway 1000/2000 applications; choose an actually approved product from Allison’s current list.
Source 1 ↗Filter numbers & cross-references
A catalogue cross-reference links part numbers. It does not confirm that either part fits every version of this model. Match the original part to the unit first, then check the replacement manufacturer's application and any supersession.
Control-main spin-on filter
1000/2000 control-main position. With Prognostics enabled or Allison Extended Coverage, retain the required Genuine Allison filter; these catalogue cross-references are not Allison approval for those uses.

What still needs unit-specific confirmation
- Deep-pan suction part number withheld: the OEM consumer brochure and the currently linked service publication disagree. Confirm the serial-specific part through Allison before ordering.
- Aftermarket control-filter cataloguing does not establish Allison Prognostics or Extended Coverage eligibility.
