Eaton Endurant XD

Heavy-load automated manual

What is the Eaton Endurant XD?

The Endurant XD is an 18-speed automated manual aimed at heavier on-highway work. Eaton’s transmission guide distinguishes its three reverse ratios from the XD Pro’s six. That distinction is one reason the XD and XD Pro suffixes should remain visible in a truck specification.

OUR EDITORIAL TAKE

What matters in a comparison

When comparing XD with HD or XD Pro, describe gross combination weight, site use and low-speed manoeuvring needs. Obtain the application approval and full model code rather than selecting on gear count alone. Check PTO provisions against the actual equipment. The supplier’s range description does not substitute for a vehicle-specific assessment of a heavy-load combination.

Filter numbers & cross-references

A catalogue cross-reference links part numbers. It does not confirm that either part fits every version of this model. Match the original part to the unit first, then check the replacement manufacturer's application and any supersession.

No application-specific filter number is verified here. Use the official identification and parts references below.

Eaton Cummins does not approve external oil filters on Endurant XD Series transmissions. Do not add a Fuller-style external filter to this gearbox.

What still needs unit-specific confirmation

  • Internal service parts and any strainers require the exact model/serial service catalogue. No external-filter substitute is listed.
