What is the Volvo D11?
D11 is a Volvo diesel engine designation documented in Volvo’s North American body-builder material alongside D13. This profile refers to that truck application. Specifications for a European Volvo D11 or another vehicle type should not be substituted for the North American engine’s records.

2017–2020: VDS-4.5 / API CK-4. For 2010–2016, VDS-4.5 / CK-4 is recommended; VDS-4.0 / CJ-4 is the listed minimum.

Genuine VCS2, a phosphate organic acid technology (POAT) coolant.
The manufacturer records a factory change effective 24 August 2023. Use the expansion-tank decal to identify VCS2; do not select by coolant colour alone. Changing from VCS requires the specified complete purge/rinse procedure.
